BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Sept. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Vulcan Materials Company's (NYSE:VMC) Gurley Quarry has been named the winner of the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association's (NSSGA) Platinum Environmental Excellence Award, the highest environmental recognition presented by the national organization.

Vulcan's Gurley Quarry, which began operations in 2013, is located in Madison County, Alabama, east of Huntsville.
