VShell 4.0 Server from VanDyke Software Improves Automation Options for Network Administrators

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Jan. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- VanDyke Software®, a developer of multi-platform secure terminal emulation and file transfer software, today announced the official release of the VShell® 4.0 server.  VShell 4.0 for Windows adds flexibility to the application's automation triggers and allows access to all VShell services for the internal user database.

VShell 4.0 for Windows also expands services available to the internal user database.  In addition to file transfer, internal users now have access to all VShell services, including shell, remote exec, port forward, and remote port forward.  On all platforms, server bandwidth control can be throttled on a global, user/group, or location basis, and support for SHA-2 MAC algorithms provides improved security compared to SHA-1 and complies with NIST requirements.

The VShell Secure Shell server replaces Telnet and FTP for secure network administration and end-user access on Windows and UNIX platforms.  Precision control over privileges, the ability to fine-tune the Secure Shell environment, and a wide selection of strong authentication methods provide a flexible solution that grows with evolving business and security environments.
