Vrdolyak Law Group Recovers $2.9 Million for Former Truck Driver in Work Injury Case
CHICAGO, March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- A 52-year-old former truck driver from Illinois has been awarded $2.9 million in a settlement reached with a nation-wide corporation.
In 2003, the victim suffered a severe leg injury while unloading products from his company's truck at a customer's distribution location. A lift gate, which was an appendage to the truck, was defective and caused the truck driver to lose his balance. He fell off the truck awkwardly with his leg pinned under some merchandise. The lift gate had been provided to the victim by the customer which was a national corporation.
The victim's leg injury was so severe that since the accident he has not been able to work. On top of lost wages there were medical bills.
The former truck driver was represented by Attorneys Peter Vrdolyak and Thomas Murphy of the Vrdolyak Law Group. http://www.vrdolyak.com
"The lift gate was unsafe and created a dangerous work environment for our client," Attorney Murphy said.
The recovery will help the victim pay his medical bills and living expenses as his injury continues to render him unable to work.
