Voting Portals: Over 1000 Online Votes By South Beach Condo Owners
Sets Record for Highest Online Votes by Members at a Condo Meeting
MIAMI, Feb. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On January, 25th 2018, Mirador 1000 Condominium Association likely set the national record for receiving the most online votes at a single association meeting. Quorum for the meeting was only achieved due to the online votes. With over 1000 votes and 430 online voting ballots casts successfully through a secure electronic voting software powered by Voting Portals, the members of the association voted to change the paint color for the building and elected their board of directors.
Members also watched the meeting streamed live through the association's secure password protected web portal and the results of the vote and other documents and information were posted for members to see. The e-voting software was created by condominium real estate attorney, Ben Solomon. It complies with Florida law and was successfully used by the association two other times in the past year with great results and participation.
"The online votes helped us achieve a quorum and saved us time and money," stated Komal Bhojwani, president of the Mirador 1000 Association. "We also love the live streaming video and recording feature."
Participation at Mirador was close to a whopping 80% of owners opting to vote online rather than submit paper ballots. Online voting reduced the meeting time by more than 3 hours by eliminating inspections of physical ballots. Voting online significantly reduced human error by voters and prevented any cheating.
Tom Rementeria, who has monitored hundreds of elections for condominium associations, stated, "Condo voting software is by far the best for elections and other online voting events. It significantly reduces the time it takes to complete an election and reduces human error.
Dozens of other major condominium towers throughout South Florida including Continuum South, Hyde Resort, The Bond, Quayside and Maison Grande are all using the proprietary Condo.Voting election platform created by Miami-based sofware development company Voting Portals. The company also offers HOA.Voting for use by homeowners associations.
"It is great to see how high initial online voter participation is by condo owners..." stated Ben Solomon, CEO of Voting Portals. "And we are just getting started."
