Voip-Pal.Com Inc. Update To Its Patent Pending Applications For Lawful Intercept and Routing, Billing and Rating ("RBR")
BELLEVUE, Wash., Dec. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Voip-Pal.Com Inc. ("Voip-Pal") (OTC Pink Sheets: VPLM) is pleased to announce the status of its Patent Pending Applications for Lawful Intercept, US Patent Publication No. 20100150138, (Link to Digifonica Lawful Intercept USPTO filing) and Routing, Billing and Rating ("RBR"), US Patent Publication No. 20100150328 (Link to RBR USPTO filing).
Voip-Pal's Lawful Intercept and RBR Patent Applications are part of Voip-Pal's agreement to acquire Digifonica (International) Limited ("Digifonica"), a private company registered in Gibraltar. Digifonica's Lawful Intercept Patent Application is called "Intercepting Voice Over IP Communications and other Data Transmissions" and was filed on November 29, 2007. Digifonica's Routing, Billing and Rating ("RBR") Patent Application is called "Producing Routing Messages for Voice Over IP Communications" and was filed on November 1, 2007.
Both Patent Applications have been examined by the United State Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO") and Voip-Pal has responded with the appropriate amendments and arguments. The Lawful Intercept and the RBR Patent Applications have been amended and submitted to the USPTO.
Voip-Pal/Digifonica's Lawful Intercept Patent Application discloses the most efficient way of intercepting voice over the Internet. This revolutionary technology was developed to address the national and international demands by governments to enable law agencies the ability to perform scheduled and live intercepts (wire-taps) on Digital Voice telephone conversations. This Patent Application becomes increasingly more significant as more and more countries are beginning to require telecom companies to have Lawful Intercept capability.
Unified Routing, Billing and Rating is covered under the Patent Application "Producing Routing Messages for Voice Over IP Communications" or Routing, Billing and Rating ("RBR"). The RBR solution comprises of a number of proprietary elements including advanced application programming interfaces (APIs) that enable Voip-Pal to provide the clients with the ability to perform subscriber management from their own existing subscriber management and billing platforms. This series of patented technologies are comparable to those patents used by Verizon that were the cause of the Verizon/Vonage litigations, and as such enable Voip-Pal to setup and deploy Digital Voice solutions virtually anywhere in the world in a matter of days, without fear of infringing on mainstream VoIP patents.
