ViXS Systems Board of Directors Elects Peter Currie as Chairman

TORONTO, Feb. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ - The Board of Directors for ViXS Systems Inc. (TSX: VXS) has elected Peter Currie as the new Chairman of the Board.   Mr. Currie will succeed Brian Antonen, who will remain on the Board of Directors and continue to advise the company.

Peter Currie has been an active member on the Board of ViXS since joining in 2009, and is currently Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Compensation Committee.  Mr. Currie has extensive experience with public companies, as he is currently a Director of Intelius Inc. and chair of its Audit Committee and member of its Corporate Governance Committee, a Director at Kemptville District Hospital, and Chairman of the Board for Atomic Energy of Canada Limited.  Mr. Currie previously held various executive positions at Nortel Networks Inc. including Chief Financial Officer; and, he was a Director for Arise Technologies Corporation, Affinion Inc., and Canadian Tire Corporation, as well as Vice Chairman and CFO of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC Financial Group).  He is a former member of the Board of Governors and chair of Finance and Audit Committee for York University and former Director of York University Development Corporation.
