Vive Les Friends: The Levi's® Brand Celebrates The Launch Of Levi's® Flagship Store On Paris' Champs-Elysees With Pioneering French And American Artists
SAN FRANCISCO, May 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
WHAT: |
The legacy of denim harkens back to 17th century France and Serge de Nimes – a sturdy fabric known as "serge" that was first introduced in Nimes, France. More than a century later, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis turned homegrown American denim into the first blue jean. What followed was a new uniform of progress adopted by free-thinking people around the world. Since then, French and American culture have continued to be deeply intertwined, giving birth to many important movements in fashion, art, music, film and art. |
|
To celebrate this long standing connection and the progress it has inspired, the grand opening of the new Levi's® store on the Champs-Elysees will feature a series of collaborations between French and American cultural pioneers. |
