VivaAerobus Selects PurePower® and V2500 Engines in an Order for Airbus Aircraft
EAST HARTFORD, Conn., July 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW -- VivaAerobus, Mexico's ultra-low cost carrier, has selected Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1100G-JM engines to power its order of 40 Airbus A320neo aircraft, plus 40 option. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX). VivaAerobus also selected the IAE International Aero Engines AG V2500 engine to power its order for 12 A320ceo aircraft.

The PurePower engine deal includes a 20-year PureSolution(SM) maintenance service agreement. The V2500 engine deal includes a 12-year V-Services(SM) maintenance service agreement.
VivaAerobus, Mexico's ultra-low cost carrier, started operations on November 2006 after being created as a joint venture between IAMSA, Mexico's leading company on ground transportation, and Irelandia, lead developer of low cost carriers around the world. It operates 50 domestic routes and one to the United States. In 2013 it announced a purchase order of 52 Airbus A320s, the largest order in Latin America ever made to the European manufacturer.
