NEW YORK, Nov. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Vitech, a leading provider of administration software to insurance, retirement and investment organizations, sponsored this year's YHack hackathon event, which took place November 11-13, 2016 at Yale University in New Haven, CT.
YHack is an international hackathon held over a 36-hour time period hosted by Yale. Over 1,500 hackers and creative thinkers gathered from all over the world to compete in various coding challenges.
As a sponsor, Vitech organized a technical challenge for YHackers to solve. The challenge involved coding data visualizations for a hypothetical insurance carrier to better understand the large amount of data collected from touchpoints with customers over a 10-month period. Two teams with outstanding solutions to Vitech's challenge tied for first place.
"We had a great experience sponsoring YHack and enjoyed the opportunity to engage with so many talented engineers," said Anurag Yagnik, Vitech's Senior VP of Technology. "The skills needed to succeed at YHack, such as problem solving, communication, teamwork and leadership, are also highly valued at Vitech."
