CLEVELAND, April 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Vitamix® presents the latest innovations in blending technology with two new products in its S-Series personal blender line: the S55 and S50. The machines combine the high-performance engineering and premium results of every Vitamix with the convenience of pre-programmed settings and a compact size. S-Series machines come with two blending containers and make it easier than ever to create individual smoothies and small batches of recipes including soups, dressings and sauces.
The S55 features four pre-programmed settings—Smoothies, Power Blends, Dips & Spreads, and Frozen Desserts—while the S50 boasts two programs for Smoothies and Power Blends. On both machines, the Smoothies setting quickly blends delicate ingredients into a creamy beverage, while the Power Blends program is designed to process especially tough whole-food ingredients such as leafy greens, frozen fruits and crunchy vegetables. Exclusive to the S55, the Dips & Spreads program easily produces a smooth, thick texture for recipes like a hummus or a cheese dip, and the Frozen Desserts setting quickly makes sorbet, ice cream and more.
The programs are specifically formatted to deliver optimal processing times. To use, simply select a setting and press the center of the dial to start—the machines will do the rest. S-Series machines also feature a Variable Speed Control and Pulse feature—all contained in one main dial—which allows users to create a variety of textures.
Both the S55 and S50 each come with two unique, shatter-resistant, BPA-free containers, allowing consumers to effortlessly create recipes for every meal of the day. A portable, 20-ounce container quickly blends individual servings and becomes an instant travel cup with a flip-top lid. Its double-insulated material helps maintain temperatures while on the go. The 40-ounce container offers fast processing and a mess-free pour when blending small batches of soups, sauces, frozen desserts and more.
S-Series models boast impressive motors, with metal drive systems and signature laser-cut, stainless-steel blades—a staple of every Vitamix machine. The result is a smoother blend, even with whole-food ingredients. Each machine has a safety interlocking system to ensure the container is securely in place before starting the machine. An interchangeable blade base attaches easily to both containers and makes it safe and easy to extract thicker creations.
"Vitamix is elevating the personal blending experience with the introduction of our new S-Series machines," said Karen Haefling, vice president of marketing, Vitamix. "The S50 and S55 make it simple to streamline meals with their unique combination of power and pre-programmed settings, plus the portability of a small format Vitamix."
Because of their sleek and compact design, the new machines fit easily in or under kitchen cabinets, and the containers can be conveniently stored on refrigerator shelves. In addition to home use, the S-Series machines are also perfect for having on-hand at the gym, office, vacation home or on a business trip. For added convenience, both S-Series containers, as well as the blade base and tamper, are top rack dishwasher-safe.
Both the S55 and S50 come with a full five-year warranty and cookbooks designed for each machine. The S55 has a suggested retail price of $469 and is currently available in a premium, easy-to-clean brushed stainless finish exclusively at Williams-Sonoma and vitamix.com. The S50 has a suggested retail price of $419 and is available in black and red finishes at retailers nationwide and vitamix.com.
