Vitamin Teams Up With New Film Series to Screen Lemonade
BALTIMORE, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Vitamin® has teamed up with the newly formed Second Shore Film Series – a public programming collaboration between the Contemporary Museum and Slant Six Creative – to bring the series' first film to Baltimore on February 10.
The film, Lemonade, is a documentary about 16 advertising professionals who lost their jobs during this "Great Recession" and found true passion in the face of economic adversity. After being fired from their previous positions, they established themselves in such diverse careers as master coffee roaster, Tour de France cyclist, yoga instructor, professional blogger, and painter. One cast member lost his job and made the most profound change a guy can make – he became a woman.
Following the screening at the Windup Space in Baltimore, there will be a discussion held on how the local creative community in Baltimore has been affected by the economic downturn and what has been done to overcome the effects.
Second Shore is a newly created program of nonfiction films curated around ideas of creativity, independence, and individuality in art, business, culture, and sport. Second Shore's goal is to support and engage the Baltimore creative community by encouraging self-expression and an independent, do-it-yourself spirit.
"Vitamin is really excited to be part of helping Second Shore bring Lemonade to Baltimore," says Amanda Karfakis, president/CEO of Vitamin. "The series is a great way for creative professionals and enthusiasts to connect through conversation and shared interests. Lemonade is a documentary that really hits home for our industry, and it will surely spark lively conversation after its showing."
The event is presented by The Contemporary Museum and Slant Six Creative. It has been made possible by the sponsorship assistance of Vitamin, Orange Element, and Novak-Birch.
