Vitamin Angels' mission is to mobilize and deploy private sector resources to advance access and use of micronutrients, especially vitamin A, among at-risk populations in need to reduce child mortality worldwide. Essential nutrients enable young immune systems to fight infectious diseases, helping children attain good health and the opportunity to lead meaningful and productive lives.
Working in support of a diverse range of NGOs, the Global Citizen Festival will urge government, corporate leadership and fellow citizens to do more to help end extreme poverty. The event will be the largest syndicated charity concert in online and broadcast TV history, bringing together 60,000 change makers, and featuring top music acts such as Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters and The Black Keys. The concert will be streamed worldwide at three screenings September 29 and 30.
"We're very proud to be an Associate Partner in support this once-in-a-lifetime event," stated Scott Holmes of Vitamin Angels' Advisory Board and president of United Future (http://www.unitedfuture.com/), a technology company specializing in multiscreen experience design and development. "One in three children worldwide is undernourished, and as global citizens, each and every one of us can take action to effect change."
