TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Oct. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- VISIT FLORIDA today launched additional functionality via FloridaNow.com to provide access to accommodations for evacuees affected by Hurricane Matthew. VISIT FLORIDA, the state's official source for travel planning, has partnered with Expedia.com and Airbnb.com to feature dedicated pages that offer available accommodations for visitors and residents evacuating as the storm approaches Florida.
"Florida is committed to the needs of our visitors," said president and CEO Will Seccombe, "and I want to thank our great partners at Expedia and Airbnb who worked with the VISIT FLORIDA team overnight to build a new evacuation accommodations resource for visitors and Floridians."
In addition to access to available accommodations, FloridaNow.com also features an interactive map of Florida with links to destination marketing organization webcams and Twitter feeds so that visitors can see the latest conditions across the state.
More information on statewide preparedness efforts can be found here on Governor Rick Scott's website.
