VISIT DENVER to Host Second Denver Beer Fest
Celebrate All-things Beer This September With 200 Events at Locations Throughout the Mile High City
DENVER, June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate Denver's claim as one of the world's great beer cities, VISIT DENVER is presenting the second annual Denver Beer Fest (www.DenverBeerFest.com), September 10-19, 2010.
The 10-day celebration of beer-centric experiences will include beer tastings at restaurants, beer-paired dinners, "meet the brewer" nights, beer tappings, brewery tours and a variety of entertaining beer events.
The first Denver Beer Fest (DBF) was held in 2009 to help build camaraderie and unique experiences around the Mile High City's position as the "Napa Valley of Beer." The response was overwhelming, as DBF celebrated throughout the city at nearly 200 venues and led to America's most prestigious beer festival and competition, the Brewers Association's Great American Beer Festival (GABF), held this year from September 16-18, 2010. DBF also includes the first weekend of Oktoberfest on Larimer Street, a Mile High tradition for 41 years.
The website, www.DenverBeerFest.com, will be a one-stop shop for every beer enthusiast, including information on:
- The Brewers Association's 29th Great American Beer Festival (GABF) at the Colorado Convention Center: The GABF, September 16-18, has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as offering the largest number of American beers tapped any place on earth, and attracts 49,000 beer lovers each year, as well as the nation's top beer writers and critics. Nearly 500 breweries attended in 2009, offering more than 2,100 beers for tastings with 3,308 different beers entering medal competitions. Colorado breweries won 45 medals, more than any other state last year, and this year looks just as promising.
- Oktoberfest on Larimer Street: This 41-year Denver tradition will be held September 17-19 and September 24-26, and features oompah-bands, bratwurst, dancing and, of course, beer.
Denver Beer Fest promotes responsible enjoyment and consumption, with special transportation coupons and additional unique beer hotel packages found at www.denverbeerfest.com.
