DENVER, Oct. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 13th annual Denver Restaurant Week will take place February 24 – March 5, 2017, continuing the 10-day, two-weekend timeframe that began in 2015. Registration for restaurants that wish to participate opens on November 14. Participants for 2017 will see a brand new, tiered pricing structure that will allow more restaurants than ever to take part and offer more options for diners. Restaurants can offer a $25, $35 or $45 per person menu, a structure that was developed to allow Denver Restaurant Week to continue to focus on multi-course meals, great deals for diners and a well-rounded representation of Denver's ever-changing, ever-expanding food scene. The $25 price point is the lowest-ever for Denver Restaurant Week, below the $26.40 per person when the program offered a $52.80-for-two price point for its first nine years.
VISIT DENVER, The Convention & Visitors Bureau, which founded and continues to organize the annual event, received feedback from a broad range of restaurants that Denver Restaurant Week remains strong, and that the 10-day, late-February timing work well for the industry. However, some evolution in the pricing was necessary to allow restaurants more flexibility in menu offerings, while making sure that consumers were still able to get a great deal. Now, restaurants whose base menu is at a lower price point, and who may not have participated in the past, can fill the week with excellent values, rather than stretching to reach the previous $30 per person price point; Denver's finest chef-owned restaurants and higher-end places will be able to offer the experience and signature dishes they are known for with the slightly elevated $35 or $45 options.
"Denver Restaurant Week was originally designed to celebrate the city's amazing culinary scene," says Richard Scharf, president and CEO of VISIT DENVER. "We want it to be a true representation of the emerging hotspots, long-time favorites and everything in between throughout our diverse neighborhoods and across the entire metro area; and this new pricing structure will allow even more restaurants to find value for their business in participating, and make it easy for diners to experience more of everything that Denver has to offer."
Restaurants will select just one price point to offer throughout the duration of Denver Restaurant Week; and DenverRestaurantWeek.com will make it easy for diners to search offerings by price point, as well as by cuisine and neighborhood. As in past years, VISIT DENVER will release the menus in advance of the 10-day event to entice foodies to book their reservations early, so they do not miss out on the great deals to be had at hundreds of the city's top restaurants. Menus for 2017 are expected to launch on January 25, 2017.
