Vision Airlines Releases its Winter Flight Schedule and Shifts Routes to Accommodate Fall and Winter Travel Demand

SUWANEE, Ga., Aug. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Vision Airlines published its winter schedule and announced a shift in the fall flight schedule.  Vision Airlines will continue to serve the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach area with flights from Atlanta, Louisville, Memphis/Tunica, Orlando/Sanford, and St. Petersburg/Tampa/Clearwater throughout the fall and winter.  Little Rock will continue to have service to Destin/Ft. Walton Beach until November 2nd. The company will add routes to its winter schedule including, new flights from Louisville to Punta Gorda/Ft Myers and Orlando/Sanford, Little Rock to Orlando/Sanford, and St. Louis to Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers.  

"The fall and winter schedules shift as consumers typically flock to Southern Florida destinations or to international hot spots like Grand Bahama Island," said David Meers, Vision Airlines' Senior Vice President and COO.  These changes will take place as early as August 19th.  The company will discontinue service in Lafayette, Shreveport, Chattanooga, Asheville, and Knoxville.  "Based upon travel trends, we have decided to make these changes sooner than anticipated and focus on markets where demand for travel will be stronger," added Meers.

"We expect to have a robust schedule of flights to Northwest Florida Regional Airport resume again on April 1, 2012.  We are pleased to continue to grow our business in Florida by offering additional flights from Louisville and St Louis. Non-stop flights to popular winter destinations such as Orlando/Sanford, Ft Lauderdale, and Punta Gorda/Ft Myers have been among the most requested routes from these airports," according to Meers.

Any affected passenger will be given the option of a full refund or offered the opportunity to travel from a nearby city served by Vision Airlines.  Vision Airlines will continue to build on these core cities and plan to offer additional flights in the future. One example would be the company's recent expansion of flights to Grand Bahama Island from Raleigh/ Durham, Richmond, Baltimore/Washington, Fort Lauderdale, and Louisville.
