Vision Airlines Launches New Service to Las Vegas and Adds Routes to Destin/Ft Walton Beach With an Introductory, $39* Each Way Fare Sale on These New Routes
SUWANEE, Ga., April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Vision Airlines announced today that the airline would offer new service to Las Vegas from Destin/Ft Walton Beach and Baton Rouge. Additionally, Vision Airlines is also expanding its service to Destin/Ft Walton Beach from several new markets including non-stop flights from Tunica/Memphis, TN, St. Louis, MO, Lafayette, LA and Ft Lauderdale, FL. Vision Airlines will increase its service between Atlanta and Destin/Ft Walton Beach to daily. The new schedule will take effect on June 1, 2011.
Vision Airlines is introducing these new markets and routes with a limited-time fare sale of $39* each way. These introductory fares are ONLY available at www.visionairlines.com. Additional restrictions, taxes and fees may apply.* Tickets go on sale Wednesday, April 20, 2011 and sale ends Sunday, April 24 at midnight eastern time. These fares are good for travel from June 1, 2011 to July 15, 2011 and cannot be combined with any other offers.
"Vision Airlines' business plan is to make complete vacation packages affordable for everyone. Our expansion to Las Vegas and the other markets is consistent with our strategy to meet this objective. We will continue to add cities and routes that are underserved and where there are very high prices," said David Meers, Vision Airlines' Chief Operating Officer. "The new routes to Destin/Ft Walton Beach are consistent with our planned growth to Florida. These markets are underserved by the major carriers and many of these markets have lost significant service over the years. In fact, there was a very recent announcement that Delta is dropping its non-stop flights from Memphis to Destin/Ft Walton Beach," said Meers. "We are particularly happy to add Las Vegas to our route system and will link numerous cities to Las Vegas in the near future," added Meers.
Florida's Governor Rick Scott said, "Vision Airlines' announcement is another sign that Florida's beaches are clean and ready for visitors to enjoy, whether for business or a family vacation."
"This is great news for travelers to Florida's Emerald Coast," said Mark Bellinger, President of the Emerald Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau. "These cities are some of the best feeder markets to our area and with major carriers reducing service to some of these key markets, it is great news to know that Vision Airlines will offer its great low-fare, non-stop service. We are very happy that Vision Airlines will offer the almost 2 million residents of Las Vegas the opportunity to visit our beautiful beaches," added Bellinger.
Vision Airlines now services 24 markets with non-stop flights to and from NW Florida Regional Airport, located at Destin/Ft Walton Beach. This expansion will create a new presence for Vision Airlines.
