Virtus Global Multi-Sector Income Fund Declares Distributions

HARTFORD, Conn., Jan. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Virtus Global Multi-Sector Income Fund (NYSE: VGI), a diversified closed-end fund, previously announced the following monthly income distribution:

In addition, the fund is declaring a supplemental distribution for short term and long term capital gains to meet requirements under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, as follows:

The ex-dividend date for these distributions will be January 3, 2014. 

Distributions may represent earnings from net investment income, capital gains or, if necessary, return of capital. Distributions are subject to re-characterization for tax purposes after the end of the fiscal year. All shareholders with taxable accounts will receive written notification regarding the components and tax treatment for distributions via Form 1099-DIV.
