"The Lodge at Blue Sky will be the ultimate outdoor playground, where upscale travelers can enjoy understated elegance with wild abandon," says Albert Herrera, Virtuoso's senior vice president of Global Product Partnerships. "Guests are invited to slow down and forge meaningful connections with the land, animals and people, which reflects the owners' strong commitment to sustainability. The Lodge at Blue Sky offers a powerful opportunity to reconnect with nature in this recreational paradise."
The Lodge at Blue Sky has a modern, organic design that blends harmoniously with the landscape. The 46 suites feature three styles of accommodations that echo the natural surroundings, showcasing beauty from all angles: Sky, Earth and Creek. The 46 accommodations range from an intimate, airy 570 square feet to 2,500 square-feet two-floor apartments. Local materials were used responsibly in the resort's construction. The Edge Spa offers indulgent treatments, yoga, guided meditation and products with nourishing bloom-to-bottle ingredients. Dining features organic, locally sourced ingredients with many grown or harvested on site. The on-property High West Distillery – Utah's first legal distiller - produces award-winning whiskey, offering guests tastings and tours.
In summer, The Lodge at Blue Sky offers experiences including horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking and mountain biking. Blue Sky is also home to a foundation called Saving Gracie's, where rescued abandoned and abused horses from all over the continent are rehabilitated. In winter, skiers enjoy complimentary transfers between Blue Sky and Park City Resort as well as a lounge exclusively for Blue Sky guests. Other winter activities include heli skiing/snowboarding, where a helicopter picks up guests on Blue Sky's property and with a 10-minute flight provides them access to more than 100,000 acres of mountainous terrain.
The Little Vaqueros program offers children daily themed excursions tailored to their age group where they are encouraged to interact with the land and animals that call Blue Sky home. Activities include natural horsemanship lessons, riding, fishing, wildlife education, and farm days where they collect eggs from chickens, feed baby calves, collect herbs from the garden, and care for the horses.
Owners Mike and Barb Phillips are stewards of the earth who have designed ways for guests to immerse themselves in nature, including the organic architecture of Blue Sky's rooms, nourishing cuisine with sustainable ingredients, a wellness sanctuary perched at the edge of a precipice where earth meets sky; and activities that connect guests and the land.
The Lodge at Blue Sky is the most recent property to launch with support from the renowned Virtuoso Preview program, which includes perks solely for clients of affiliated travel advisors. Preview is part of Virtuoso's acclaimed Hotels & Resorts Program, with more than 1,300 world-class properties in over 100 countries in its luxury portfolio.
