Virtual Reality Emergency Management Training Solution Goes on Tour: Environmental Tectonics Corporation's Simulation Division to Showcase the Advanced Disaster Management Simulator Worldwide in June, 2011
SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., May 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (OTC Bulletin Board: ETCC) ("ETC" or the "Company") ETC Simulation Division, located in Orlando, Florida, is excited to announce a one-month global tour designed to showcase the capabilities of the Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (ADMS™). During the month of June, 2011, ETC Simulation will demonstrate the ADMS system at seven separate venues, both domestically and internationally. ADMS is the virtual reality training simulator, incorporating artificial intelligence and a physics-based engine, and designed to enhance incident command and strategic level emergency management skills. ADMS is currently in use in eleven countries and utilized for the planning, rehearsal, training, assessment and improvement of emergency response plans and personnel.
This tour will allow emergency management, homeland security and defense professionals from around the world to view the system and gain a better understanding of the benefits it offers. The ADMS demonstration schedule includes invitation-only events, pre-scheduled conferences and a final presentation of a customized underground critical infrastructure training simulator to national emergency management leaders. The diversity of the upcoming events validates the multi-agency and multi-threat training capabilities that ADMS offers. ADMS users include Offices of Emergency Management, military training institutions, police academies, fire and safety training facilities, ports, airports, strategic level operations centers, counter-terrorism task force organizations, private corporations with internal emergency management departments and colleges offering emergency management curriculum.

"ETC Simulation is honored to have been invited by some of the highest-level emergency management communities to demonstrate the significant capabilities that ADMS has to offer," said Marco van Wijngaarden, President of ETC Simulation. "The challenges that the world is facing today are multi-faceted. Increased natural disasters, man-made emergencies and homeland security concerns, combined with the budgetary restraints of those charged with readying for these events, have highlighted the need for a training method that is both cost-effective and relevant to the 21st century threats that we are facing. ADMS is a tremendously viable solution for these challenges. We appreciate the recognition and the opportunity to share with others the ADMS experience."
The decisions by both on-scene command teams and off-site strategic planners are critical to the successful outcome of an incident and ADMS provides a platform to rehearse those skills in a safe, secure and true-to-life environment. Advanced simulation technologies, including physics-based effects, built-in artificial intelligence, ambient sounds and photorealistic visuals are combined to create a "virtually real" immersive experience for trainees. This unequaled immersive factor has been unique to ADMS since its first introduction in 1994, and the reason why some of the leading emergency management organizations on local, regional and national levels, have implemented the ADMS system within their training curriculum.
