NEW YORK, Sept. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Virtual Health, the pioneering provider of next generation health care technology for value-based care, today announced the appointment of Dan Bart as executive vice president of information security and implementation. Bart joins Virtual Health after more than 13 years serving the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), where he oversaw the implementation and operation of information systems designed to defend the DoD information network and protect classified data of critical value to national security. "The Virtual Health platform was purpose-built from the ground up to be a secure, reliable ecosystem for the health care industry," said Adam Sabloff, founder and CEO of Virtual Health. "Dan's extensive expertise in protecting highly sensitive systems at the Department of Defense makes him the ideal candidate to oversee our information security. Under his leadership, we will continue to ensure strong cybersecurity supports every aspect of the Virtual Health platform, particularly as the industry moves increasing amounts of protected health information to electronic media."
Leveraging years of experience as a senior leader in mission-critical information systems, Bart will work closely with Virtual Health's development, operations, vendor management and system administration teams to ensure the application of industry leading practices across all facets of information security. He will also manage complex deployments, aligning business needs to technology capabilities and driving forward Virtual Health's client-centric, consultative service model.
"Having spent more than a decade leading cybersecurity implementation for the U.S. Department of Defense, I feel strongly about applying my skills and expertise to a field in which I can continue to help people," said Bart. "Health care is a rapidly evolving field with growing complexities and concerns relating to cybersecurity. Virtual Health is the preeminent turnkey solution enabling plans and providers to seamlessly transition to value-based care, and is a critical tool for improving patient lives. I look forward to supporting the company's clients and ensuring we meet and exceed all of their implementation and systems security needs."
