Virginia Officials Join Civil War Trust, National Park Service For Major Historic Preservation Announcement
MECHANICSVILLE, Va., Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Monday, November 19, 2012, officials from the Civil War Trust, National Park Service and the Commonwealth of Virginia will gather on the Gaines' Mill Battlefield to celebrate the completion of the largest ever preservation project related to the Battle of Gaines' Mill. Thanks to a major grant from the Commonwealth of Virginia, this public-private partnership will preserve 285 acres associated with the bloodiest of the Seven Days' Battles during the summer of 1862.
