VIRGINIA HEALTHCARE SYSTEM BEGINS ROLLING OUT MORRISEY'S CARE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
CHICAGO, Jan. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sentara Healthcare, owner of 10 hospitals and more than 100 medical facilities in Virginia and northeastern North Carolina, will soon begin using Morrisey Associates' care management software to become more efficient and improve quality and patient safety.
Sentara purchased the Web-based Morrisey Concurrent Care Manager™ (MCCM™) after conducting a nationwide search and concluding that Morrisey meets the organization's unique requirements.
"Morrisey took the time to understand who we were and what we wanted rather than tell us how wonderful their product is," says Sarah Clark, RN-BC, BSN, CCM, manager for care coordination education at Sentara Healthcare. "They've been amazing to work with, and we're confident that we're getting the best software available."
MCCM automates patient care management processes, enabling hospitals to provide quality care for more patients while reducing errors and securing appropriate reimbursements from insurers. Sentara is preparing for the first phase of implementation in February. The rollout is scheduled to be complete by third quarter 2013.
"MCCM will allow us to track avoidable days, readmissions and care transitions," says Teresa Gonzalvo, RN, BSN, MPA, CPHQ, ACM, vice president of care coordination at Sentara Healthcare. "Being able to capture the data and run reports quickly and easily will help us identify areas for performance improvements in a timely fashion."
