SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Virgin America Inc. (NASDAQ: VA) today reported its preliminary operational results for December 2015 and the full year of 2015. The airline's traffic (measured in revenue passenger miles) increased 6.4 percent on capacity (measured in available seat miles) that was 9.3 percent higher from the same month in 2014.
Load factor was 80.6 percent, a decrease of 2.2 points from December 2014. The number of onboard passengers increased 9.6 percent from the same month last year.
