Vase Joins Zinio Executive Team to Lead Operations and Product Technology
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Zinio, the world's largest and most popular global magazine newsstand, today announced that Virendra Vase has joined the company's executive management team as chief operating officer (COO). Vase joins Zinio from Jigsaw, a Salesforce.com company (CRM), where he oversaw all engineering and operations and was instrumental in the sale of the company to Salesforce.com in 2010.
Vase's experience in fast moving, entrepreneurial online businesses makes him a great fit for Zinio, as the company continues to drive market-leading innovation around its global digital newsstand. With extensive growth plans across the product, technology and operational areas of Zinio, Vase in his new role brings deep experience to efficiently and effectively drive continued success for the company. Zinio's operations and technology divisions will both report into Vase.

Before joining Jigsaw, Vase was vice president of engineering for Yahoo!'s (YHOO) Search & Advertising Technology division, responsible for its Y!CRM platform, Small Medium Business (SMB) group and business intelligence of its Performance Advertising Network. Prior to that, he served as COO at MetaReward/Experian (EXPN), a performance-based ad network, which experienced incredible growth during his tenure there. Additionally, Vase has also held executive positions at Responsys (MKTG) and AdKnowledge, a division of Engage Inc. At the latter, he was responsible for the development of all campaign management, ad serving and web analytics products.
Virendra received his MS in computer engineering from Clemson University and BS in electrical engineering from Pune University in India.
