Vimeo Offers Local Language Support Beginning With Spanish Translation
NEW YORK, July 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Vimeo® today announced its offering of Spanish translation of the Vimeo site for Spanish speakers. Additionally, Vimeo will now accept payment in Euro in countries where Euro is the primary currency.
"Vimeo is the high quality video platform for a global community of creators," said Vimeo CEO, Kerry Trainor. "So it is a natural expansion to provide local language support. We chose to start with Spanish because it is the second most spoken language on Vimeo. You can expect for German and French languages to follow."
Local language support on Vimeo provides translation of all the navigational elements of the site. The Spanish translation is delivered by default to browsers where the language is set to Spanish. People can easily change the language preference by clicking a link at the bottom right of any page.
Offering payment in Euro and Spanish language options are the first steps in Vimeo's globalization strategy. Other languages and currencies including those from Asia and Europe are in development and will be announced soon.
Vimeo Plus accounts cost €49.95 annually and €7.95 monthly. Vimeo PRO accounts cost €159.00 annually. For more information, please visit the Vimeo blog at https://vimeo.com/blog/post:508 or watch this video https://vimeo.com/46248871.
