Villanova School of Business Earns Top Ranking by PARADE Magazine and U.S.News & World Report
Villanova Ranked among Top 7 for Business and Accounting by PARADE
Villanova Ranked #24 in Accounting by U.S.News
VILLANOVA, Pa., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Villanova School of Business has achieved top undergraduate program placements in two recent rankings: the PARADE Magazine "College A-List" published August 22 and the U.S.News & World Report "America's Best Colleges" 2011 edition, which hit newsstands on August 25. The PARADE ranking was determined by a nationwide network of guidance counselors, while the U.S.News Accounting Specialty ranking was determined by deans and senior faculty across nearly 500 accredited business schools.
In the PARADE "College A-List" print edition, Villanova was ranked among seven top schools for business and accounting in the company of peers including Babson and Wharton. According to PARADE, these programs "offer students real-world experience in and out of the classroom." PARADE also cited Villanova's emphases on liberal arts and ethics—which reflect the University's Catholic, Augustinian mission. "Professors at Villanova help connect students with well-developed internships and a network in the business community, but business education is also embedded in the context of a liberal arts and humanities background, with an ethical foundation that encourages students to get involved in service programs off campus and learning communities on campus."
In the U.S.News 2011 "America's Best Colleges" ranking, the Villanova School of Business was ranked #24 nationwide in the Best Business Programs—Accounting Specialty category. Deans and senior faculty nominated the programs they deemed to be the best in the US. The university's hiring statistics support its strong performance: over 92% of Villanova Accounting graduates have a job within six months, and receive salaries nearly 10% higher than the national average.
Bloomberg Businessweek also ranked Villanova #14 in Accounting nationwide earlier this year in a specialty ranking determined by student satisfaction.
Villanova University was founded by the Order of Saint Augustine in 1842. With a total enrollment that surpasses 10,000 students, Villanova is the oldest and largest Catholic university in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Villanova School of Business has been at the forefront of business education since its founding in 1922. Today, the school is ranked #20 in the nation by Bloomberg Businessweek and serves over 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students.
