CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Charlotte-based Viking Mergers & Acquisitions has announced the creation of the Entrepreneur Endorsement Scholarship, a scholarship designed to assist students in their journey towards entrepreneurship by offsetting some of the costs of education.

"Pursuing a career in entrepreneurship is incredibly exciting and rewarding, but does not come without its financial burdens," says Jay Offerdahl, President of Viking Mergers & Acquisitions. "We are eager to see the new ideas of future entrepreneurs come to fruition and would never want money to stand in the way of a dream." Offerdahl states that entrepreneurship is growing among younger generations, with around 60% of millennials dreaming of owning a business.

To apply for the Entrepreneur Endorsement Scholarship, applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students enrolled an accredited college or university in the United States, and also have a GPA of at least 2.5 for the prior semester or otherwise have an academic status in "good standing" (if GPAs are not used). Applicants must also show a demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship by either majoring in a small business-related field, having a side business while in school, participating in an entrepreneur-focused club or organization, or assisting in a family business.
