Video Reveals Anti-Jewish Lectures by Northeastern University Professors
Tenured Professors Indoctrinate Students, Encourage meetings with Anti-Semites.
BOSTON, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Americans for Peace and Tolerance (APT) today released a 30 minute video (http://bit.ly/PHnt3m ) showing professors promoting anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism in classroom lectures.
The video examines the lectures, invited guests, reading lists and student trips to the Middle East of a tenured professor in Northeastern's Middle East Center for Peace, Culture and Development.
Dr. Charles Jacobs, APT President said, "It seems clear that this department has been built to inculcate students with a hostile and demonized view of the Jewish state, with repeated comparisons to the Nazis. As the video shows, one professor in the Department has also introduced the students and the university to virulent anti-Semitic Arab officials and religious leaders."
Jewish students and a Hillel staff member interviewed on the video express deep concern and frustration at the professor's constant defaming Israel.
The video also features a talk by a Northeastern Economics Professor who tells students that they should be proud of being called anti-Semites and who brags that over the past 10 years of his teaching there, the student body has largely turned against Israel, while pro-Israel students have been intimidated into silence.
This is the third video in a series exposing disturbing examples of radicalism and anti-Jewish activities at Northeastern University. (www.shameonneu.com )
"Recently, Northeastern University administration had taken some positive steps in dealing with issues identified in our first two videos," Jacobs said.
"The problem of anti-Israelism and anti-Semitism is not restricted to this campus but is a national problem that first came to wide public attention in 2004 with the controversial film 'Columbia Unbecoming,' which documented the intimidation of Jewish students at Columbia University," said Jacobs.
"The Jewish community in Boston needs to get involved," Jacobs said. "The silence of Boston's Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is especially disappointing. Anti-Semitism on campus should be more of a concern for them," he said.
American for Peace and Tolerance has written a letter to Northeastern University President Joseph Aoun asking him to place the Middle East Center under his custodial responsibility until the Center complies with Northeastern academic standards and core values.
"Northeastern professors cannot be allowed to indoctrinate students and promote lies," Jacobs said.
