Video Game Leader Graeme Devine Joins Magic Leap

HOLLYWOOD, Fla., March 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Magic Leap, Inc., a developer of novel human computing interfaces and software, announced today that Graeme Devine has joined the company as Vice President of Games.  Devine will work closely with Magic Leap founder, President and CEO Rony Abovitz to advance the product development and commercialization of its proprietary human computing interface technology, known as Cinematic Reality^tm.  Devine and his team will utilize the power of Cinematic Reality™ as a new and unique medium to develop mind-blowing entertainment experiences.

Graeme Devine is a veteran game developer with more than 30 years of success in game production across multiple platforms, technologies and major titles.  In his career he has overseen some of the largest and most successful gaming initiatives in history including the legendary title Quake for id Software, Halo Wars for Microsoft's Ensemble Studios and was handpicked to oversee the video game business for Apple's iOS platform.

Devine got his start in video gaming during the late 1970s on the TRS-80 and was hired at the age of 16 to work at Atari, helping to bring Pole Position to various home computer platforms. After Atari he worked for Lucasfilm on bringing the cult classic Ballblazer to a number of platforms.

At the age of 24, Devine co-founded Trilobyte Games which released hit titles The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour.  Devine then moved to id Software where he worked as lead designer on Quake III Arena and Quake III Team Arena. At id he gained recognition in the Mac gaming community for supporting development on the platform.

After id Software, Devine became the lead designer for Halo Wars at Microsoft's Ensemble Studios.  In 2009 he moved to Apple, overseeing the iOS platform gaming initiative for the company's mobile devices.  Recently Devine created Full Deck Solitaire which has amassed over 4 million downloads since its launch in 2011.

In 2008 and 2009 Devine was named one of the Top 100 Developers in the video game industry. Recently IGN recognized Devine as one of the all time Top 100 Game Creators.
