VictorOps Promotes Information Reuse in Next Series of Integrations; Starts with HipChat
BOULDER, Colo., Aug. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- VictorOps, the leading collaboration and incident management platform designed for DevOps teams, today announced a first-class integration with Atlassian's HipChat. With this integration, VictorOps users can create a HipChat room that pipes in the VictorOps feed and allows chat conducted in that room to be captured in the VictorOps timeline.
VictorOps recognizes that the use of chat is important to information capture and reuse processes. VictorOps customers use a combination of VictorOps timeline updates while away from the office and enterprise chat tools like HipChat, Slack, Flowdock, or Campfire while at the office. Subsequently, the next series of integrations will directly address ChatOps, in order to make the use of chat based collaboration easier for DevOps teams. HipChat is the first of these integrations.
"Regardless of how you communicate, it's critical that all of the information is captured for things like post-mortem reporting," said Todd Vernon, co-founder and CEO, VictorOps. "Ultimately our mission is to reduce time-to-resolution and information reuse is key to that mission."
With this integration, the VictorOps retrospection-reporting tool – Post-mortem Reporting - will now include all conversations that take place in HipChat. In the heat of the moment, all ChatOps commands, conversations, escalations and so on will be captured in VictorOps as part of the problem resolution. So at the end of the day, DevOps teams will have a documented account of how the problem was solved making uptime reporting and future problem resolution easier.
