Vicky Ward Joins MWW Group as Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications
Vanity Fair Contributing Editor, Best-selling Author and Fox News Contributor to Guide Corporate Reputation and Executive Eminence Programs
NEW YORK, April 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MWW Group (www.mww.com), one of the top ten global independent public relations firms, announced today that Vicky Ward will join as senior vice president for corporate communications. In this role, Ward will play a key role in guiding clients in their corporate reputation, crisis management and executive eminence programs.
Ward most recently served as contributing editor at Vanity Fair since 2001, where she has profiled a number of high-level executives, including Carly Fiorina, Morgan Stanley's Philip J. Purcell, Vivendi's Jean-Marie Messier, Bruce Wasserstein and Louise MacBain, among many others. She is also the author of a New York Times best-seller The Devil's Casino: Friendship, Betrayal, and the High Stakes Games Inside Lehman Brothers, released by John F. Wiley & Sons in 2010. Prior to her years at Vanity Fair, she was the executive editor of Talk Magazine under Tina Brown and News Features Editor of The New York Post.
"At MWW, we're building a different kind of public relations agency that brings a variety of backgrounds and perspectives to the table for our clients," said Michael W. Kempner, president and CEO of MWW Group. "Vicky will be an incredible resource, providing the insights she has gained from two decades of asking business leaders the tough questions from the other side of the interview chair. She will use her talents as a gifted writer and communicator to bring executive strategies to life."
In addition to her role at MWW, Ward will continue to serve as a contributor to Fox News and Fox Business. She is also finishing her second book, a history of the General Motors Building.
"I couldn't have asked for a more brilliant experience than working with Graydon Carter at Vanity Fair over the last decade, but the time is right to move on to a new and exciting opportunity," Ward said. "I chose to make the move to MWW Group over other firms because of MWW's position as an industry leader, and the vision of its CEO and founder, Michael Kempner. Michael is committed to pushing the traditional boundaries of public relations, and bridging the worlds of journalism, politics, digital and corporate communications. I'm excited to be a part of it, and look forward to bringing my 20 years of journalism experience to MWW."
Ward will be based in MWW Group's New York office. She holds a masters in English literature from Cambridge University.
