Derwood "DC" Curtis has joined SBG as Vice President of Intelligence, Cybersecurity Services and Special Programs. With over 30 years of military and business experience in leadership, technology integration, and resource management, Vice Admiral Curtis will be responsible for leading business strategy across the Federal Agencies and Commercial sectors, as well as providing technical direction, strategic advisement and executive support for SBG's customers.
Prior to joining SBG, Curtis held eight CEO-level positions in his years of service to the Navy. In his last Naval assignment, Curtis served as Commander of the U.S. Naval Surface Forces and led the Naval Surface Warfare Enterprise providing surface combatant ships for operations worldwide, while influencing the strategy for the future Navy. He most recently served as Executive Vice President/Chief Operations Officer of SABREE Inc. His strong leadership and vision assisted SABREE in becoming a multimillion dollar business.
VADM Curtis holds a Masters of Public Administration degree from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the United States Naval Academy. He has also attended Keagan-Flager Business School, Babson Business School, the Center for Creative Leadership, and the NATO Defense College. He serves on the U.S. Naval Academy Board of Trustees and various other boards.
