DENVER, Feb. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ViaWest, one of the largest privately-held data center, cloud and managed services providers in North America, celebrates a culture of giving and service, supporting a variety of non-profit and charitable organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.

During the recent holiday season, amid a national decrease in charitable donations, ViaWest was able to increase its employee and matching donations over last year. ViaWest's Colorado employees donated an average of over $50 per person in cash and gifts which represents a 60% increase over last year's giving. These donations supported the Family Tree, a non-profit organization which provides services to families and youth of metro Denver to overcome child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness, Autism Society of Colorado, whose mission is to improve the lives of all affected by autism, Servicios de la Raza, which provides and advocates for comprehensive, culturally responsive human services to all Colorado communities in need, and MaxFund, a no-kill animal shelter.
The commitment to giving starts at the top with ViaWest's CEO and Co-Founder Roy Dimoff, "At ViaWest, we are invested in the local communities that we serve and are proud of our support of local non-profit organizations. This is one of the many ways we get involved." ViaWest matched its employees' donations by contributing more than $9,000 to The Food Bank of the Rockies and MaxFund.
ViaWest supports a multitude of other nonprofit organizations, such as: Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, Magic Moments, Inc., which produces an annual musical and theatrical production that integrates persons with physical and developmental disabilities into the performing cast of amateurs and professionals, Musana, a children's home in Uganda whose mission is to aid the development of vulnerable children and orphans, Pandas International, and KidsTek which provides Colorado's underserved youth, grades K-12, with an invaluable technology education.
ViaWest also integrates the technical expertise of its employees into its charitable giving through sponsorship of the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Aspirations in Computing Awards, a talent development pipeline initiative designed to increase women's interest in technology careers. ViaWest COO, Director, and Co-Founder Nancy Phillips serves on the NCWIT board of directors.
ViaWest prides itself on providing flexible and responsive solutions to its customers and this trait carries through to its giving efforts. ViaWest was contacted by the Family Tree because it was falling short on its goal to support food baskets to 200 families. Through the generosity of its employees, in only 10 days ViaWest gathered enough food and gift cards to feed approximately 50 families.
