The VMT-1220P is optimized for ViaSat's worldwide broadband network, so mobile and dismounted warfighters can send and receive live full-motion video over the horizon, make secure phone calls, and access classified networks worldwide. Service plans provide affordability through tiered levels of performance and connectivity.
The mechanical design includes a small 16x16x24-inch profile with a hardened radome and electronics base that eliminates the need for a separate carrying case. A lightweight ballistic bag is included for lifting, carrying, and shipping the system.
"The military services have a variety of choices for portable satellite terminals, but the missing ingredient is the network," said Larry Taylor, VP, ViaSat Alpha Innovations Team. "What we offer is unique: packaging and performance that is ready to go on a worldwide broadband network."
The terminal is available for test and evaluation. For more information, contact Jim Herren, director Integration and Innovation either at AUSA 2012 booth 2261 or by calling 760-893-3740.
