Viadeo Opens Public API for 35 Million Member Business Social Network
Launches Developer API Contest with $20,000 Prize
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Viadeo, the business social network with 35 million members worldwide, today announced the release of its public API—boosting usability and increasing functionality for its members. With Viadeo's open API, third party developers can leverage the company's business social networking platform to create a personalized web experience for their site visitors—ultimately increasing brand awareness, driving revenue and elevating engagement. Viadeo also announced today the launch of its Developer API contest, which challenges developers to create a killer app that leverages the Viadeo API. The contest starts today and runs through October 14. Submissions will be reviewed and the winners selected by an esteemed panel of judges including Robert Scoble and Kin Lane of ProgrammableWeb.

Developers are invited to make their submissions online from September 6 through October 14, 2011. Submissions will be reviewed by the judging panel from October 15-20 with the winners announced on October 24.
