RICHMOND, Va., Feb. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On January 20th, Virginia Health Information (VHI) greeted legislators into the New Year with their 11th Annual Welcome Back Legislative Breakfast at the General Assembly. Members stopped by the 5th Floor East Conference Room to fellowship, ask questions of key VHI staff as well as enjoy a delicious breakfast catered by Meriwether Godsey.
During the breakfast, VHI staff members met with legislators and shared updates on reporting tools, patient level data and Virginia's Psychiatric Bed Registry.
While lawmakers attended the breakfast, VHI's President, Kay Lewis; VHI's Executive Director, Michael T. Lundberg and VHI's Operations Manager, Deborah Waite shared the organization's accomplishments over the past year; including the success of the All Payers Claims Database (APCD). The APCD, released in the spring of 2015, is used to analyze health system performance by state, region and other areas. APCD's are growing across the nation with Virginia having the largest statewide (by population) system.
