VHA Inc. Webinar Series Offers Strategies for Transitioning to Value-Based Payment Model
IRVING, Texas, Sept. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Transitioning from the traditional fee-for-service payment model to one based on value uniquely impacts every area of a hospital. To help hospitals and health systems nationwide, VHA Inc. today announced it is hosting a series of five free webinars that offer strategies designed around the distinct financial, clinical, operations and supply chain challenges leaders are facing in this transition.
"The value based payment model is one of the most significant changes for hospitals and health systems coming out of health care reform and the financial stakes are high. Hospitals and health systems that aren't able to transition will be at risk for meeting required quality metrics. This will result in lower reimbursements from government agencies and payers as well as declining margins," said David Markoski, senior vice president for VHA Performance Services.
"VHA understands the requirements of a value based model as well as the specific strategies necessary to successfully make the transition. Through our Volume to Value webinar series, we will share real-world examples, success stories and strategies to help healthcare organizations effect meaningful change," said Markoski.
The one hour webinars are designed for hospital executives with clinical, operational and financial responsibilities and will be led by VHA experts with insights from representatives of member hospitals. The webinars are offered at no cost and are open to all health systems nationwide. The webinar dates and topics are:
