VHA Inc. Renews its Accreditation as Provider of Interprofessional Continuing Education for Healthcare Teams Through 2020
IRVING, Texas, Sept. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- VHA Inc. today announced it renewed accreditation for its continuing education program from The Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing EducationTM program, a collaboration of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) through July 2020.

VHA has been offering continuing education programming to its member hospitals for more than 25 years. In 2013, VHA hosted a total of 720 Continuing Education activities through face-to-face, satellite TV and Web-based programming that awarded 16,632 CE hours to 8,951 attendees.
With the joint accreditation initiative, the ACCME, the ACPE and the ANCC seek to assure the public that health care teams receive continuing education that is designed to be independent, free from commercial bias, based on valid content and effective in improving the quality and safety of care delivered by the team.
