WASHINGTON, Nov. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Former servicemen and women at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and at the Veterans New York Harbor Healthcare System in Manhattan were treated to an all-American "pizza party" in their honor today, courtesy of Rich Products Corporation.
Major General Ken Dowd, U.S. Army, (Ret.), along with Donna Reeves-Collins, Rich Products Corporation, were on hand in D.C. to personally serve the vets, and Kim Rich-Lumpkin, daughter of Chairman Bob Rich, and Rich's Chef Sam Selvaggio, served the pizzas in New York.
More than 200 veterans joined the festivities at these locations, and soldiers were provided with a complimentary copy of the newly released novel, "Looking Through Water" by Rich's Chairman Bob Rich. All of the proceeds from the sale of book are being donated to Project Healing Waters, a non-profit organization aiding the physical and emotional rehabilitation of our veterans.
Rich's also donated several hundred frozen pizzas to the USO Warrior and Family Center at Ft. Belvoir, the largest center of its kind in the country, and to the Walter Reed National Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
