Vernier Launches New Go Direct™ Sensors with Built-In Wireless and USB Connectivity for Data Collection
Family of 16 sensors can be used with free Graphical Analysis™ 4 app from Vernier and more than 190 teacher-tested science and STEM experiments
BEAVERTON, Ore., Feb. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As technology evolves, U.S. schools are choosing a variety of low-cost computing platforms for student instruction including personal computers, Chromebook™ devices, tablets, and more. In response to educators' needs, Vernier Software & Technology launched the Go Direct™ family of sensors to offer teachers and students maximum versatility to collect scientific data either wirelessly or via a USB connection. The 16 new low-cost sensors, which are designed primarily for chemistry, physical science, and middle school science, can be used in more than 190 teacher-tested experiments developed by Vernier and are supported by free graphing and analysis software, Graphical Analysis™ 4 app.
"The Go Direct sensors provide teachers, especially those new to probeware, with a simple, versatile, and low-cost way to incorporate data-collection technology into their science or STEM curriculum," said John Wheeler, CEO of Vernier Software & Technology. "The sensors connect directly to Chromebooks, mobile devices, or computers so there's no interface needed. This gives teachers the flexibility to utilize the technology platforms of their choice in new and innovative ways for scientific exploration with their students."
The Go Direct sensors include the 3-Axis Magnetic Field Sensor, Colorimeter, Conductivity Probe, Constant Current System, Drop Counter, Force and Acceleration Sensor, Gas Pressure Sensor, Light and Color Sensors, Melt Station, Motion Detector, ORP Sensor, pH Sensor, Radiation Monitor, SpectroVis Plus Spectrophotometer, Temperature Probe, and Voltage Probe.
All Go Direct sensors are backed by Stellar Service from Vernier, which includes award-winning technical support; 24/7 access to an online technical information library and videos; hands-on workshops; webinar training; and a community that provides best practices and innovative uses of probeware.
