RootMetrics, an independent mobile analytics firm, drove thousands of miles throughout the North Dakota area, as well as testing many indoor locations. The company said its national study was designed to portray the consumer mobile network performance experience at a national and state level, beyond their metro-specific reports. Each RootScore is calculated from a combination of tests that are weighted to reflect the impact that a consumer would experience. Scores were based on RootMetrics testing performed in the second half of 2014 (July-December). The company ranked the four major U.S. wireless providers in six network performance categories: Overall, Reliability, Speed, Data, Call and Text.
"This most recent study is further confirmation of our continued commitment to deliver on our brand promise of providing customers in North Dakota with the best network experience," said Seamus Hyland, president – Great Plains Region, Verizon Wireless. "Customers value the consistent reliability and overall performance of our network, and being able to connect to our 4G LTE network when and where they need it."
Verizon operates the nation's largest and most reliable 4G LTE network.
In North Dakota, the company has rolled out its latest XLTE network technology in several markets. XLTE utilizes Verizon's AWS (Advanced Wireless Services) spectrum to double 4G LTE network capacity. Greater capacity means more customers at once can send photos, download videos, surf the internet and more at peak speeds on their smartphones, tablets and other devices.
