Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network To Expand On O'ahu And The Big Island
Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network Will be Available in More Than 400 Markets Across the Country on Oct. 18
HONOLULU and SAN DIEGO, Oct. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless today announced at MobileCON™ 2012 that customers in more areas of Hawai'i will be able to experience the speed and capabilities offered through the innovative products and solutions available on its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network when the company expands the service in Makaha, Hawi, Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, Ninole, and Highway 19 from Waimea to Honoka'a on Oct. 18. With the new and expanded markets, the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network will be available in 417 markets across the United States, surpassing its goal to cover 400 markets by the end of 2012.
The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network offers more coverage than all U.S. wireless providers combined, and is the nation's largest 4G LTE network. The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network is currently available in Hawai'i on the Big Island, Kaua'i, Lana'i, Maui, Moloka'i and O'ahu.
On Thursday, Oct. 18, customers who visit or live in areas including Makaha and Hawi will be able to surf the Web, stream music and video, and stay in touch with family, friends and colleagues, all with speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G.

RootMetrics Survey Results Released
RootMetrics recently conducted thousands of data, call and text tests throughout Honolulu. They sorted the data to see which carrier provided the fastest and most reliable data network, the fewest dropped and blocked calls, and the fastest text service. Verizon Wireless was named the winner of RootScore awards in the categories of data performance, call performance, and combined performance.
