Verizon to Host Free Electronics Recycling Event July 15 in Colorado Springs for Area Residents, Verizon Employees
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon will host an electronics recycling day on July 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 2424 Garden of the Gods, overflow parking lot. The event is free and is part of Verizon's commitment to protect and preserve the environment.
Items collected will be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. Recycled items can include laptop and desktop computers, LCD (liquid crystal display) monitors, computer cables, mice and keyboards, gaming consoles, telephones and answering machines, stereo and audio equipment, paper shredders, alarm clocks, printers, cameras, conferencing equipment, remote controls, earphones, small electronic appliances, and electronic toys without batteries. Hard drives will not be wiped.
CRT monitors will not be accepted; nor will televisions, refrigerators, freezers or any items that may contain hazardous waste including batteries, ink and toner, mercury bulbs or medical waste.
