Verizon Technicians, Working Round-the-Clock, Making Progress in Restoring Landline Phone Service in Eastern Hanover and Henrico Counties, Virginia
RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon is making progress in restoring landline phone service to customers in the eastern part of Hanover and Henrico counties served by the company's Sandston central office, and Verizon technicians will work in round-the-clock shifts until service is completely restored.
Due to faulty network equipment in the Sandston office, customers in the area may have trouble completing and receiving landline calls. The issue is not affecting wireless calling, High Speed Internet (DSL) service, FiOS Internet, FiOS TV or FiOS Digital Voice customers. In addition, 911 service overall is not affected.
The Sandston central office serves approximately 5,500 customer lines.
Technicians from Verizon and the equipment vendor have restored some circuits, enabling customers to make and receive more landline calls, and these technicians will continue to bring service back until all is restored. There is no estimated time of restoral at this point.
Verizon will provide another update tomorrow morning (Sept. 21).
