Verizon Receives 'Strong Positive' Rating in Leading Analyst Firm's Managed Security Services in Asia/Pacific MarketScope Report
SINGAPORE, Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Gartner Inc. has rated Verizon "Strong Positive" in the industry analyst firm's new report, "MarketScope for Managed Security Services in Asia/Pacific, 2012"[i]
To receive a Strong Positive rating, companies must be "viewed as a provider of strategic products, services or solutions," according to Gartner. In addition, customers should "continue with planned investments" while potential customers should "consider this vendor a strong choice for strategic investments".
Andrew Dobbins, Verizon's Asia-Pacific vice president, said: "We believe that our managed services and security solutions continue to set the gold standard in the industry. These services are underpinned by a highly skilled professional services team that works hard to protect the integrity of our customer's IT infrastructure."
Rating in the Gartner MarketScope is based on a several criteria including a service provider's overall viability, customer experience and sales execution/pricing.
Gartner notes in the report that "Clients in Asia/Pacific continue to express a strong preference for providers with a security operations center (SOC) located in the region. This preference has aided the growth of local providers, but most multinational providers have invested in regional SOCs, effectively diluting geography as a competitive differentiator. In 2012, local MSSPs accounted for 27 out of the 40 SOCs (68%) owned by MSSPs doing business in the region."
