NEW YORK, Aug. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon has been named an Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) contract solutions provider by the U.S. General Services Administration. Under the EIS contract, federal agencies will be able to buy information technology, telecommunications services, and other enterprise solutions from Verizon. The 15-year EIS Multi-Agency Contract (MAC), with a total spending ceiling of $50 billion, will ultimately replace agencies' existing Networx, WITS 3 and Local Telecommunications Services contracts as they expire.
The EIS contract is a collaborative effort between the GSA and industry. EIS is an all-encompassing contract and will provide a comprehensive yet streamlined solutions-based process for current and next-generation technology procurement. The contract features simplified pricing, improved management and operational support.
"Federal agencies need to be able to transform their communications and networking technologies from those that serve their needs today to those that will carry them into the future," said Mike Maiorana, senior vice president of public sector markets, Verizon Enterprise Solutions. "As an approved EIS contract provider, Verizon will be able to leverage our global enterprise and government experience to offer a comprehensive suite of solutions. As a leading provider on Networx and WITS 3 today, we have intimate understanding of agency solution requirements and their diverse missions, and are able to deliver programs tailored to meet their evolving needs."
Verizon will offer a comprehensive and evolutionary suite of integrated services to agencies. Verizon is positioned to offer cutting-edge and transformational solutions throughout the full EIS period of performance; from Software Defined Networking, to 4G wireless technologies, IoT and connected machines, managed network and security, and advanced FedRamp secure hosted voice and contact center services. Also, with our decades of experience serving the Federal customer, the Verizon team of professionals uniquely understands agency solution requirements and diverse procurement requirements, and is best positioned to offer the next generation mission-enabling services. We've invested millions of dollars to develop a premier Business Support System that will enhance the government's experience with accurate inventory data and flexible ordering, provisioning, billing and reporting.
As a leading provider of wireless and wireline communications services to the U.S. federal government, Verizon can provide a comprehensive portfolio of services, competitive pricing, enhanced ease of use, and a low-risk transition to the EIS contract. Owning and operating the nation's most reliable 4G LTE network positions the company to successfully integrate wireless capabilities into its enterprise EIS offerings. And as federal agencies' technology needs evolve over the life of the contract, Verizon will draw on its legacy of innovation to continue to support them with the most advanced solutions.
