Verizon Joins National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) Board
Executive Director of National Security and Cyber Policy Marcus Sachs to Serve on NCSA Board
WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) announced today the appointment of Verizon Communications' Marcus Sachs to the nonprofit organization's board of directors. Sachs will represent Verizon on the board.
The NCSA is a nonprofit public private partnership that brings together government, corporate, nonprofit and academic organizations to educate and raise awareness efforts to empower a digital citizenry to use the Internet safely and securely.
Verizon, one of the world's largest communications companies and a leader in delivering security solutions to businesses worldwide, joins NCSA's expanding and diverse board with representatives from AT&T, ADP, Cisco, EMC, Google, McAfee, Microsoft, PayPal, SAIC, Symantec and Visa.

At Verizon, Sachs assists federal, state and local officials with cyber policy coordination specific to the communications sector. He also serves as the Secretary of the Communications Sector Coordinating Council and as Co-Chair of the Workforce Development Subgroup of the Department of Homeland Security's Industrial Control Systems Joint Working Group. He also directs the all-volunteer SANS Internet Storm Center. Prior to his work with Verizon, Sachs served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and was a presidential appointee to the National Security Council staff.
