Verizon Invests in 4Home to Facilitate Development of Connected Home Services

Silicon Valley, Calif., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- 4Home today announced Verizon Investments Inc. participation in 4Home's Series-B financing round that closed in the first quarter of 2010. The investment, which was arranged through Verizon Communications Inc.'s Verizon Ventures group, assists 4Home to facilitate consumer-focused initiatives, including those underway with Verizon.

Working with Verizon's LTE Innovation Center, the companies showcased market-leading applications running over the 4G network at the Consumer Electronic Show in January. "4Home's work with Verizon's LTE Innovation Center is focused on leveraging the increased bandwidth of the 4G network to enable an entirely new suite of services for the consumer — offering a simple web-based interface that allows homeowners to manage their energy usage based on their needs, remotely monitor and control their devices, and more," said Leon Hounshell, CEO of 4Home.
