Verizon IndyCar Series Shifts Into High Gear At Firestone 600 On June 6
The Verizon Network Ready for High Capacity Event
DALLAS, June 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
WHAT: |
The Verizon IndyCar Series comes to Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth the first weekend in June. The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network is prepared to provide a superior wireless experience for fans. |
IndyCar fans will also have a chance to watch an exciting race featuring the 2015 Indianapolis 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya and the Verizon Penske Team. |
|
The Texas Motor Speedway is one of the largest sports stadiums in the country, with a crowd capacity in excess of 200,000. The Verizon IndyCar Series features races at a combination of superspeedways, short ovals, road courses and temporary street circuits, offering its international lineup of drivers the most diverse challenges in motorsports. |
|
For the race on Saturday, June 6, the Verizon team deployed three cell on light trucks (COLTs), with both LTE and XLTE coverage. A new 12 beam spherical lens antenna was added to improve coverage and capacity performance at the event. There is also a dedicated small cell for the Fan Village to enhance data performance. |
|
These enhancements mean more IndyCar fans, media and local residents can enjoy high-speed 4G LTE data on their smartphones, tablets and other wireless devices to send pictures and texts, post tweets, search for and watch news on their favorite drivers, and access the INDYCAR 15 app. |
